We are seeking two summer student helpers who are interested in meteorological/environment studies and who are currently studying in a secondary school with HKCo-WIN membership (please check the Member List page to ascertain whether your school has joined HKCo-WIN membership or not). Successful applicants will assist in data analysis and in development of measurement instruments. Priority will be given to those who have participated actively in previous HKCo-WIN activities. The employment will be on a part-time basis for a period of around 1.5 months, with commencement date around the end of May. Interested students are invited to email their resume to Mr. Eugene Ng (email: apkaze@inet.polyu.edu.hk). The application deadline is June 1, 2009.

Under the Hong Kong Community Weather Information Network (HK Co-WIN), the weather station at Elegantia College (in Sheung Shui district) captured a minimum temperature of 7°C around dawn on 29 Nov. 2008. The cold snap at the time necessitated the first cold warning by the Observatory, as temperatures plummeted and many places in Hong Kong reported temperatures below 10°C.
